Pack Committee Meeting

Of June 3, 2006

Meeting began at 11:35AM

Old Business: Committee Reports:

Treasurer's Report- Larry submitted financial reports to Marc (attached to minutes) Checking account balance is ~$2,170 Store balance is ~$576 Cash Box is ~$53 This leaves the Pack in a very good financial position to start the coming year. Larry requested from Ned an invoice and backup documents for the new Pinewood Derby Track so that it can be submitted to AFSC who donated the funds of ~$1,500 for the purchase.

Membership-Jen reported: " She is in the process of contacting potential new scouts. " She is working on the fall kickoff and resolves to keep den sizes at 8 boys/den as stipulated in the guidelines. Having larger dens this past year was not conducive to providing the best quality program for the boys. " Tonya will provide Jen with brand new rosters. Jen will confirm rosters with respective den leaders to determine vacancies in each den. " Volunteer Den Leaders are needed. Solicitations will be made during Sat.'s picnic.

Publicity- Jim had nothing to report " During the meeting, discussion was made in obtaining posters for the elementary school for next year to solicit scouts " Wayne Clark offered to set up a scout table on July 4th

Awards- " Final scout awards for the year will be distributed at the picnic (see notes below) " Molly is taking-over for Tonya

Cub master-Ned reported " Ned presented Chris Browning with the Den Leadership Training Knot " Tonya will try to get a spreadsheet of den positions and committee positions for the Pack to Buzz to post on the website to show were the vacancies need to be filled

From District mtg.: Oct. 7 will be the district adult Fellowship at the Dragon Hill to welcome new leaders and recognize those who have received various leadership and training awards July 10 will be the Scout Golf Scramble hosted by District. All scout leaders are welcome to play and have lunch. Marc is helping to coordinate four-somes, please let him know! June 26 will be the scout Fund raising tournament. Although this is during scout camp, Marc will be on site to help with this event. Morning shot-gun, donation minimum of $40/person. Please notify co-workers and non-SOFA personnel. Oct. 15-17 & 27-29 will be the Wood badge Training. Pete has the registration forms. The only pre-requisite is to have completed the training for the position you are currently in. POC is Ned Stoll. Location is south of Osan near the Independence Hall museum.. Additional information can be found on the Council website.

Website-Buzz reported " He will investigate obtaining a better, less expensive web server. Larry will withhold payment for current server for this coming year. Based on discussion and information provided by Buzz, the new server will be able to provide service without changing the site or URL especially after all the hard work that was put into setting it up. " Buzz will improve the volunteer link and its visibility and accessibility on the site " Buzz requested that all items that are submitted to him to post on the website be in the actual format that the requestor would like " Will put an annual cub scout calendar on the website

New Business:

Departing Leader and Assist. Leader Recognition will be made during the picnic on Sat.

June "Cross-Over" Picnic-Marc Garduno reported: " Handouts were distributed for items needed for the picnic; dens were assigned various paper products to bring and each family is requested to bring a dish (attached in minutes) " Set for Sat., June 10 at the school cafeteria from 12-2 " In order to advertise and to invite new scouts and rising Tigers, it was suggested that a flyer be distributed at the elementary school, an ad be placed on the marquee, and that AFN be notified to cover the picnic " All families are asked to help in recruiting scouts and volunteer to fill the vacant positions " Notify Marc if new Tigers are in attendance so they can be properly welcomed. " Jen will try to have a membership table with flyers and adult volunteer registration forms. " Den 3 will post and retire the colors. " Boy Scouts will help with face painting and games (Robert Ahlers & Daniel Cunningham) " A Den is needed to help with games " Please discourage scouts from consuming drinks prior to picnic festivities. Families are suggested to bring water. " Food will be hamburgers and hotdogs donated by the Pack.

Public Service Project-Jen reported A possible summer service project would be for the scouts to clean and replant the elementary school flowerbeds. Ned and Marc will discuss with the Principal.

Cub Resident Camp-Tonya reported " Will be held Wed, 6/21 to Fri, 6/23 at Camp Humphreys " Cubs will need to bring a lunch on the bus ride to the camp, which departs from the So Post Chapel parking lot. " She will deliver the T-shirts to Marc " She is collecting last minute fees " Scouts need to bring bike safety equipment (helmet, pads) for building and running box cars

Swimming Party-July (Date TBA) Coordinators are Roger Clark and Molly Flint

Rain gutter Regatta-Aug 8 Coordinators are Jackie Ahlers and Stephanie Lycan
