- Article I...Member / Youth Protection
- Last names of youth members shall not be published on the web without parent's
signed approval. Names and information about any adult shall be published only with
the written approval of that individual.
- Pictures of youth may appear on the web as long as no name or other personal information
is associated with the picture.
- Under no circumstances shall the address, personal phone number or e-mail address of any
youth be published on the Internet
- E-mail addresses or phone numbers of adult members may only be published with written
permission.
- Article II...Commercialism on the Website
- The site shall not contain any advertisements or commercial endorsements whatsoever.
This means that in no way may the web pages include any type of relationship of
commercial nature nor give endorsement to any business, corporation, commercial agency, or
individual.
- No commercial logos or links to commercial firms will be placed on the web site.
- An acknowledgement of support may be added to the website. This will be limited to a
text expression of thanks.
- Article III...Links with Other Sites
It is not possible to prevent other sites from linking to a site or to prevent search
engines from indexing the site. However, the purpose of the website is to provide
information to the Scouts and their families. As a result, the site will not encourage
linking and will not be submitted to search engines. In general, links will be
included on the web site only to official Cub Scout or Boy Scout web pages. Links to other
sites may be included if they have special value to Scout activities, but these sites will
be carefully reviewed for content and links.
- Article IV...Privacy Policy
- The website will not collect personal information via "cookies" or any other
mechanism.
- The website will not include any features or software that will allow upload or download
of executable software to other computers
